30,000 ‘Surya Mitras’ will install solar panels in every house in Uttar Pradesh

30,000 'Surya Mitras' will install solar panels in every house in Uttar Pradesh

The government of Uttar Pradesh has set an ambitious goal to put solar panels on every home in the state. The government is going to train thirty thousand youth as “Surya Mitra” for this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through his initiative PM Surya Ghar Yojana, has taken this action to promote solar energy. More than 25 lakh solar rooftops have been built in Uttar Pradesh since the program’s inception in February last year.

What is 'Surya Mitra' initiative?

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) states that a qualified workforce in the solar energy industry will be necessary to meet the goal of putting solar panels in every household. The state agency wants to use district centers and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to teach 30,000 “Surya Mitras” for this purpose. Under the National Solar Energy Mission, we establish a plan to develop this talented human resource.

Training and role of 'Surya Mitra'

Over the course of three months, the Surya Mitra program offers 600 hours of intensive instruction. Together with hands-on experience at solar photovoltaic technology plants, practical lab work, classroom instruction, on-the-job training, soft skills development, and entrepreneurship development are all included. Candidates must have passed at least 10th class and obtained their ITI certification as a sheet metal worker, electrician, wireman, or electronic mechanic in order to be admitted to this program. They receive assistance in finding employment after completing the program.

Impact of solar energy adoption in Uttar Pradesh

The state’s solar panel installation program will pick up speed thanks to Uttar Pradesh’s initiative. According to UPNEDA data, over 18 lakh homes in the state have registered to install solar panels on their rooftops, and applicants have filed applications for approximately 2 lakh more homes. Not only would this lower electricity costs, but it will benefit the environment as well.

Challenges and Solutions

Just like every scheme, there can be some difficulties with this one. such include challenges with funding, public ignorance, and training and deployment issues. However, we are ready to work with the Uttar Pradesh government and UPNEDA to find solutions to these challenges. The Government has introduced “Net Billing/Net Metering” system to encourage the use of solar energy. Furthermore, 10 lakh residences in Uttar Pradesh will have solar panels installed on their rooftops thanks to UPNEDA’s partnership with Tata Group. This program was recently launched from Varanasi.

How to join 'Surya Mitra' initiative

You can apply for the training program to become a Surya Mitra. You will receive all the technical training needed for the installation and upkeep of solar panels through this program. In the meantime, you can get in touch with a solar firm in Uttar Pradesh if you want to put solar panels in your home. In addition to performing the installation in your home, our Surya Mitra will provide you with comprehensive details regarding the advantages of solar energy.

Conclusion

‘Surya Mitra’ is a significant step in establishing Uttar Pradesh as a centre for solar energy. Through this plan, the state’s solar panel installation will pick up speed, and Uttar Pradesh will be able to achieve solar energy self-sufficiency. Additionally crucial to the plan’s success is public cooperation. Come on, let’s all contribute to this plan and help Uttar Pradesh become energy self-sufficient.
